Miho Takeda is a picture book artist who has continued to create warm, approachable picture books that bring comfort to the hearts of children. This exhibition features original artwork from the hugely popular Tonari no Seki no Masuda-kun (The Boy Who Sits Next to Me); Omuraisu, Hei! (Omelet with Rice, Hey!), in which cooking unfolds in a lively and rhythmic flow of words; and Yakusoku (The Promise), a picture book that reexamines war and peace based on the posthumous writings of author Masamiki Nasu.
In addition, materials used by Takeda in the process of creating her picture books will be on display, allowing visitors to explore the richness of her expression and the secrets behind her lasting popularity.
