Chihiro: Children as Symbols of Peace

Tadasu Iizawa, playwright and the first director of the Chihiro Art Museum, once said, “Chihiro continued to depict children because they are, above all, symbols of peace.”
This exhibition focuses on “children,” a theme that Chihiro explored throughout her life, and introduces the thoughts and historical context behind her work through her picture books and other works. By revisiting this enduring theme, the exhibition offers visitors an opportunity to reflect anew on the meaning of peace.
