Besties Forever: Chihiro—Children and Animals

Gently gazing at a little bird from afar, or cuddling a cat close in one’s arms …
With her soft, tender brushwork, Chihiro portrayed children cherishing small living creatures. In works that delicately capture moments of emotional connection between children and animals, we can sense the gentle, compassionate gaze she cast upon these fragile lives.
This exhibition presents Chihiro’s works depicting children interacting with familiar animals such as birds, dogs, and cats, together with her personal memories related to animals. It also highlights the many different birds that appear throughout her picture books.
