Chihiro’s Perspective of the World of Hans Christian Andersen: In Commemoration of the 220th Anniversary of His Birth

2025 marks the 220th anniversary of the birth of Hans Christian Andersen (1805–1875). During her career, Chihiro frequently illustrated the fairy tales of Hans Christian Andersen in her picture books and fairy tale collections, constantly revising ways to express his stories. What motivated her was her empathy for his stories, which portray the universal human emotions that transcend time and place. In this exhibition we will present the world of Andersen through Chihiro’s works and words.
