Pekka Vuori
(Finland), b. 1935
Born in Kiikka, a small village in western Finland. After completing his studies in graphic design at the Institute of Applied Arts in 1956, he began illustrating and designing books and creating layouts for periodicals and newspapers. Since 1980, Vuori has served as art director for Form Function Finland, an internationally distributed magazine of art and industrial design. His picture books, developed with innovative ideas and compositions, express his unique sense of humor. He is a three-time recipient of the Rudolf Koivu Award.
