Park Chul Meen

(Korea), b. 1966

Born in Seoul, Korea. He graduated from the Oriental Painting Course at Chugye University for the Arts and participated in the 1st Picture Book Illustration Workshop. In addition to an award at the Republic of Korea International Art Contest, Park received a Korean Publication Art Exhibition Special Prize in 1995, and the Cultural Organization for Korean Children’s Books Minister’s Award in 1999. He won second prize at the Noma Concours for Picture Book Illustrations in 2002 for The Son Who Caught the Tiger, and a Noma Concours for Picture Book Illustrations honorable mention for I Am Not Afraid in 2004.
