Bolormaa Baasansuren
(Mongolia), b. 1982
Born in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. After graduating from the Institute of Fine Arts in Mongolia, she participated in a summer scholarship program in Italy and a symposium in Moscow to study illustration. In 1999, Baasansuren’s illustrations for Tales on the Horseback were recognized with a Distinguished Best Book of Mongolia award. In 2004, she received the Grand Prize at the international picture book competition of the National Cultural Festival for The Legend of Wives’ Hair, and the Grand Prize at the Noma Concours for Picture Book Illustrations for the Japanese edition of My Little Round House.
