Andrea Petrlik-Huseinović
(Croatia), b. 1966
Born in Zagreb, Croatia. She studied at the University of Zagreb’s Academy of Fine Arts and created illustrations for children’s books as her graduation thesis. She illustrated the children’s book Little Bear’s Home, which was written by a famous Croatian author and later became an animated short film broadcast on national television. In 2001, she created her first original picture book, Plavo nebo (The Blue Sky), at the UNESCO BIB workshop, which, along with Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland (2002), received Biennial of Illustrations Bratislava Gold Plaque awards in 2003.
