Chiara Rapaccini
(Italy), b. 1954
Born in Florence, Italy, and has been living in Rome since 1980. She studied pedagogy at the University of Florence and taught herself how to make art. She began creating children’s books in 1981 and her lack of formal art education led to a free and unique artistic style. In Italy, she is also known as a satirical artist. Rapaccini currently teaches children’s book illustration at the Istituto Europeo di Design in Rome. In addition to her illustration work, she also writes books for children and young adults and creates three-dimensional artwork.
