See! Touch! Make!  Chihiro Iwasaki’s Garden of Flowers and Fun

This year’s Shinshu Flower Festival features a special exhibition of Chihiro’s works amid the flowers and foliage at Yamabiko Dome, the festival’s main venue, located in Shinshu Sky Park (Matsumoto Basin Wide Area Park, Nagano Prefecture).

The exhibition booth is surrounded by fabric adorned with prints of Chihio’s artwork, enabling visitors to enjoy the world of flowers she created. Additionally, the area displaying one of Chihiro’s representative works, “Hanaguruma” (Flower Handcart), includes a handcart brimming with flowers, similar to the one featured in the illustration. As such, the setting provides visitors with a rare opportunity to reenact a beloved Chihiro artwork to create unique commemorative photos.

On weekends we offer workshops where guests can experiment with the watercolor techniques that Chihiro employed in her illustrations. We hope you will take advantage of this once-in-a lifetime opportunity to enjoy Chihiro Iwasaki’s garden of flowers and fun.
