Akachan no Kuru Hi (A New Baby Is Coming to My House)

This is her second picture book published from Shiko-sha following Ame no Hi no Orusuban (Staying Home Alone on a Rainy Day). Chihiro once said about this book, “I depicted the wavering emotions of a girl who is waiting for her baby brother to come home with her mother. She is sad, feeling as if everything is done only for him, but she also feels happy and looks forward to playing with him.” This picture book may reflect some of Chihiro’s memories as the eldest of three daughters.
