    Children Drawn by Chihiro

Chihiro could draw a child in any pose with ease. Based on her daily close observations of her child and his friends and her sketches of them from time to time, images of various poses of lively, energetic children were ingrained in her mind. “Many children exist inside of me. Those children come out from the tip of my brushes,” Chihiro once said. Against the backdrop of seasonal delights—spring flowers, gentle rain, refreshing early summer breeze, seaside dazzling light—Chihiro’s children are filled with life’s bright potential, new discoveries, surprises, and excitement. Children in her paintings evoke these feelings of innocence in their viewers.
