Chihiro’s Atelier

The Chihiro Art Museum has been built on the site where Chihiro spent her last 22 years from 1952 to 1974. The restored atelier reflects that of 1972, the most fruitful time in her career. It was originally on the first floor, and was then moved to the second floor following the extension in 1963. Chihiro created a great number of works while looking out over the groves through the window that opened to the south, and to the seasonal pot plants on the veranda.
