  • Mother and Child Looking at Chihiro's Work (photography by Shiho Otsuki)

    First Museum

The Chihiro Art Museum Tokyo features an entirely barrier-free design, in the hope of becoming the first museum that children visit in their lives. All toilets, including the men’s lavatories, are equipped with baby seats and diaper changing tables. The Children’s Playroom is equipped with a nursing room, toilet for small children, and a sink to wash hands. Visitors are welcomed to bring their own baby food or allergy-friendly food into the Picture Book Café. The artworks are centered at the height of 135 cm from the floor, so that both adults and children can enjoy the exhibition.
